SAM #8: Song From a Local TV Drama
Every Monday, I'll share music that I like, has been a significant part of my life, or simply feels good to me. I call this Song Appreciation Monday (or SAM, in short), and I hope you'll appreciate these songs and music too!
Recently, I've been enjoying a local TV drama titled 爱不虚拟 (Coded Love). The drama is about AI holograms created for people to meet their loved ones who have passed on or gone missing. It's a touching drama that brought me to the verge of tears twice in the five episodes I've watched thus far. There are also some light-hearted and funny moments to make it less sombre. Overall, it's a wholesome show that I recommend you watch if you haven't already.
The theme song of the drama is titled 虚构 (I would translate it as Make Believe):
When I first heard the song on the radio, I was unimpressed. The song was average, and I felt there was too much repetition of the title "虚构" in the chorus. However, it sounded so good when I heard it on the show! The song fits into the show perfectly, especially during the touching moments. After some time, I even started humming to the song's tune whenever it played on the show.
